June 2. Sunday A very warm Sunday. None of us went to church or anything. I wrote some and read the papers a little. Had promised Helen to go over to see her mother to-day so dressed & started a little after six - Took the car. Found Lura & her mother there and all were much interested in hearing about Helen and our trip. The Bakers went pretty soon and Mrs. Davis insisted I should stay to tea, so I did - bananas - brown - bread- tea - milk- onions - &c. We had quite a jolly time, as always there. Helen is to bring a Miss Flora Whipple home with her to visit & Mrs. D. asked if I could get off and go to a picnic - of course I said Yes. Hamilton & Mrs. Griswold drove up just as we finished, to take Mrs. Davis to drive & when they got back they drove around home with me. A lovely ride - cool enough to make everything just grow big enough to make everything bright. I quite enjoyed it. Sat and talked awhile after we got home. Told Papa about things. June 3. Mon. Still very warm. Everyone seemed glad enough to see me at the office . I found plenty to do, too - and the new rug and J.G. glad to have me back &c.&c. " Shopped at noon. Bought Ida Watts a pretty Doulton
