As per arrangement I met Ned Edith & Freddie at 8 tonight & we went up to the loan ex- hibition - where I looked at some new things & some I'd seen before. We talked with Miss Stowell & each other - was pretty tired the girls seemed to enjoy it - we came away at 9:30 - a cold night! Oct. 29, Tuesday. Was too tired & nervous to stay in tonight, so took the car to Edith's (with my light dress waist) right after supper and spent a pleasant hour or so with the girls. Ned was pasting & teazing me to know "whether Mary liked her"(!) Had a good time. Tried on things &c. Ned has a new bed. Got home to bed in good season. Oct. 30. Wed. Pleasant. Shopped (winter flannels &c.) Read this evening - Everybody away but me. Claude & I selected a very pretty "Bagdad" at Morton & McCabe's - for our sitting room couch. Oct. 31, Thursday. Walked down with Mary after lunch (leading my wheel) and it simply poured all the p.m. & evening. I had to
