1895.
Kept talking about Reba & Charlie & fishing &c & tried & tried to get up. Papa went for the Dr. & he came about Eleven. Dr said Auntie could not live two hours & gave her nitro-glycerine as a last resort &. While he was talking the nurse called him (we had to do everything in whispers so Nina would not know anyone was there.) and he went up & came right down again saying "She will not live five minutes!" Poor Edna made a rush for the stairs but they were afraid for Nina & I comforted her the best I could in the corner of the sofa in the parlor. Poor child. It was so hard. She started for upstairs again but the Dr. came & said all was over. So I took her out into the dining room and she lay on the sofa an hour or so & sobbed & stopped & sobbed again & I talked to her a little & cried too& rubbed her head & took down her
