home to supper with me. She says she'll be lonesome when I'm in
N.Y. (3 days!) We sat & talked by the grate
fire. She went home in the cold & wind about 9.
Feb. 21 Friday
Blizzardy morning. Shopped today. Met (Charlotte
&) Ned at noon & we went to
Harned's to lunch & then
shopped more. It cleared off some. She stopped for me at night, too, &
we went up to Glenny's
This evening sat by fire & finished "Camille" which
is by far the vilest book I ever read!
Feb. 22. Sat.
Other negatives were lost by Mr. Photographer.
Pleasant, sunny, Washington's birthday.
J.G. still sick - I only worked in the
morning. After dinner went to Ned's
(pocket-kodakedFreda Behn &
Grantine on the way) Took a picture of Ned's room - Had a chat - & then started
out for a walk. Went thro' everything at the German bookstore - Walked to
the central station & took a magnificent yellow cat, sitting on
a step on Clinton St. on the way. Then took the car
to Frederica's but she wasn't home, so
went to Edith's & sat and
chatted an hour by her fire - quite tired. Planned the 1st meeting of the
Bohemian Club this evening & I stopped & invited
Charlotte
& had a chat with Frank on
the way up - after supper, packed up camera, flashlight, jam,
&c. & stopped for Mary - but she
wasn't going. Then went to Seel's for
1896.
