Dec. 17. Tues. Pleasant again. Went to the Dr's this p.m. Read all the evening. Wed. 18. Also a pleasant & an uneventful day. Thurs. Dec. 19. Warm & spring like. Went over to the Y.M.C.A. with Papa this evening and saw some athletics & talked with Mr. McLaughlin. Home early. Fri. Dec. 20 At Edith's urgent solicitation Mary & I went to their amateur dramatics tonight. Funny enough. Edith all eyes for Clark. Mary amused by Mr. Servis & I by the company & audience in general & especially Mrs. Gertrude Williams on the front seat! Up late - a nice visit with Marys. She's to give Mr. B. (I suspect) "A Bachelor's Christmas" party

. Sat. Dec. 21 Shopped in good earnest to-day - with Charella this noon & Claude tonight - also alone. Saw Mary. Blue sky all day & balmy air (the whole week) Rode home at 6:40 with the Carsons. It poured soon after. Claude went to a Philistine dinner at Buffalo Thursday night and made a speech - was toasted &c. &c. Been doing yearly accts. tonight. Now I sew.
