Jan 7. Tuesday Some warmer & still snowing. Tonight Martha & I went over to the Y.M.C.A. - at Wm 's request - to see basket ball - but it rather petered out - came across an interesting little lad on the bridge coming home. He is a "blue" & they are over 100 ahead of the "red" in the membership contest, tonight. Drank a cup of tea & then read most of the evening. Jan 8. Wed. Nice winter day & I feel good. Pleasant things occurred - JWC went to the sleigh ride to the Country Club last night J.G.C. came home tonight. I visited Claude in his office (now facing ours) & found John

laughing over obituary poetry - one verse was "The Epworth League will miss him! We'll miss him in the choir, We'll miss his Sabbath greeting We'll miss him everywhere!" He is making a "collection"! Met Frank Decker & had quite a chat. Ned was up - and Mary (but I didn't see her) &c. My Xmas
