crowd to the Lyceum. Charlotte & Mrs Davis
sat next me. Our seats were first row in balcony. The house was full
- Mr. &
Mrs Will Wray &
Lois & Delos sat behind us. Mae & John &
the Hoards & Gordons
further back. The Sibleys -
Watsons,
Elys, Rosses,
Wilders, BethDoty &c.&c. in boxes. &c.&c. A very
brilliant audience. A lot of University boys in the gallery kept
things lively. The play was everything I could wish and
Caleb Plummer was delightful. In
the semi-pathetic and funny parts, especially - Dot was cute
and
Tilly Slowboy was simply fine.
Jefferson made a pretty little speech (mostly recommending
Mayo.) between the plays - & then appeared as
"Golightly" in yellow whiskers! It was a delight - the whole evening &
I enjoyed my visits with Charlotte
between times. Claude & Frank were both waiting & the
Davises & "us" walked down
together (the girls went with Elsie & Will .)
Claude & I walked home. It was
a fair - starry night. He has had a beautiful sonnet published in the
Philistine.
