Sept. 19. Thurs.
Pleasant and quite warm. Didn't feel much like dressing up &
going to Davis'
this evening - had much pains in my head - but did so. Took a bromo seltzer (which was no good I found - for
me) & stopped for Mary. Found her a wreck also, with a
pain in her side - but we braced up and went. Mabel Rogers & her sister went up in the car with us,
and we found there - besides the 6 Davises, Ned, Lura, Matie & Hattie

Mr. Barry, Mr. Crosby, Mr. DeGraff and and Mr.
Brown
(Hattie's "Bert ".) We played
progressive euchre, and after losing the first one &
won 7 in succession. Kept Hamilton for
my partner at the head table & we made a great team, but
unfortunately he was needed in the kitchen & then I began to lose - so
I missed one of getting the prize - Mrs.
Griswold got it - & Matie
Arnold the booby. Mr. Crosby first of
the gentlemen (Hamilton didn't come)
& Mr. DeGraff the booby. The
prizes were pink roses - and sunflowers! Frank, Ned, Mr.
Barry & I had coffee, ice cream & cake together.
Then we talked awhile & Miss Wilson told fortunes
- by palmistry. She told Matie
