Nov. 29. Fri Another lovely day. Rode Diana and to- night went up to Gorton & McCabe's with the girls - or after them - Found Ned & Edith& Mary & Emma there. It was "opening". This evening I wrote, sewed & read & talked to Mama. Nov. 30. Dec. 1. Sat. A gray sort of a day. Didn't seem like Saturday. Saw Charlotte & she asked me to come up tomorrow or sometime. We shopped a little. I bought some Xmas books. And read them tonight ("Play - Actress" and "Dolly Dialogues.) Dec. 1. Sun. Like yesterday, but warmish. Busy at home all day. Read &c. & started for a ride but it was too muddy. We had a wood fire in the grate and I sat beside it & read. Mary came over and I read her - from the Play Actress - the parts that reminded me of Tommy Struthers. She asked me to come down in the evening, but I didn't. Read N.Y. papers &c. Mary told me about her Aunt - Azuba Blodgett - who is reading "Hunted Down" - &c. Dec. 2. Mon. Bright & wintry - Had a walk with Charlotte- up and down Main St. &c. Rained hard. Stopped to see Ned. Tonight she stopped & we went shopping - in the rain. Tonight I remade a window seat and re-upholstered a chair while Papa read aloud. Dec. 3. Tues. This is the day I had my walk with Charlotte & stopped to see Ned. Edith was in, also, this p.m. & we went up to the 5¢ store and got a
