Sun. Dec. 22. Pleasantish. We had Xmas music in church this p.m. Mary went with me & we enjoyed it. Edith was not visible, so I concluded Ned had got home. Took down my Xmas things for them just the same (after supper) to Frederica's 1st & then Edith's. Ned was there - arrived to-day - so was "Cousin Mort." I stayed quite late talking &c. - I mean late for Sunday. Mon. Dec. 23 We expected Mrs. Jones today, but she didn't appear. I shopped quite extensively this noon - saw Charlotte. Staid home & read (& trimmed my hat) tonight. Tues. Dec. 24. Mrs. Jones was up a minute but I didn't see her. She's coming again later - must spend Xmas at Lew's. Martha went to Utica at noon. I had a pair of beautiful books on Holland (D'Amici's) given me by the Cutlers with a nice chat with Warren. Started home comparatively early. It poured. Ordered flowers for Lura & Mrs. Morris. Saw Ned & Edith a moment & finally came home to supper in a car & in such rain. After supper we fixed a "pie" on the dining room table and while it was "on" Mary came - to bring a pretty pincushion & a frame with Gibson's picture in for me. We had great fun drawing out & as usual I got loads of things - 2 nice waste baskets (Mama & Ned - & I needed both) and a beautiful silk waist from Claude - Printing
