had been asleep in it and now awoke. Everyone who saw it smiled & the funny p.o clerk took up his collection in the tin pail & we sang & started for home. Ned & I decided to go to Viamede to dinner & Mary went back in our boat. Tom sail paddling alone. Had a pretty good dinner and I took a "group" on the front steps. Then Tom insisted on taking one with me in & then Ned & I climbed up on the ice house roof and I took Viamede from there. Then Tom & "Jim
" and we 5 girls made a pilgrimage to the top of Mt. Julien, Mary & I scrambling up ahead - scaring cows & geese & birds & climbing fences. The top was a great place, with several lovely views, from the southwest side we could see 'way across Stony & Clear Lakes - with many islands in between. We had quite & jolly time on top. Eating chocolates & talking & I read a story aloud from Scribner's. Took Charlotte,Helen & Ned as "The 3 graces" &c. & we climbed away down again Tom, Mary & I took hold of hands & ran down the hill and to the wood pile on the dock - Where they got bark while I photographed them un- awares. Then Mr. Struthers went sailing.
