at "municipal stuff" (I get that just as I'm closing up the rest for
the night!) Had a little chat with Mr. Davis,
Hamilton, Frank & Kate, down
on
Main St. Then came home and after supper & a
little rest went up to Mrs. Wagner's & had
my cambric dress tried on. Then rode down to Mary's a minute. Told her
Charlie Scott had a Life's Calendar
prize. Then came home & wrote awhile.
Jun. 25. Tues.
A beautiful day. Letter from Ned saying she had "retired on the half-pay"
for 6 weeks & asking me down Thursday. Mary was up tonight for a little while. Geo. Humphrey
came while she was here - staid most of the evening. I was up quite
late - getting out the Life's Calendar "Trilby
Examination" &c.
Jun. 26. Wed.
Still lovely, but I felt miserable. Came up at 5 and went to bed
comparatively early.
Jun, 27. Thurs.
Nice weather - warmer. Shopped at noon at got supper tonight.
Mama went calling & then to
hear Mrs. Ballington Booth. Went down to Ned's tonight & spent the evening with
her & Edith on the piazza. We
drank raspberry chrub & talked about camping & Ned's to stay a month or so
1895.
