Ned took down some things of mine to put
in her trunk. Had lunch afterwards.
July 8. Mon.
Threatening weather - Muggy & warm. Took my blankets down to
Ned's at 8:30 a.m. & had a
chat with the girls. They start tomorrow! Managed to get thro' the
morning - the hot morning - but finally it began
to pour - which was a relief. A lovely letter came from
Claude (Paris.)
Brought a Kodak - (pocket. $5) for
Meta, by request. We didn't any of
us do much this p.m. Will is on
his vacation & there is only Miss R,
Mr. Gilmore & I. This
evening it rained, I sewed & Papa
read. About finished my waist.
July 9. Tues.
Pleasant & cool. Rode again today -
much to my relief. It is becoming quite a hardship to walk! Did some errands &c. & rode home with Mary. Tonight went to the nine o'clock
train to see the girls & Prof.
&Mrs. Rose & the
boys off for Stoney Lake.
Edith & Mr.
Cross were there too. They left at 9 - all in good
spirits but expecting to be seasick - as the wind blows quite hard. The
station was full of Christian endeavorers going to
Boston. Sewed & wrote when I got home.
