Feb. 14. Friday. Valentine's day - as I found out last night when I directed valentines to Marjorie

& others in "a disguised hand" J.W. got back. Gilmore told us about the Dinner last night. J.G. gave a luncheon at the club to one of the speakers (Smith) & Willie has a usually thrilling time getting a round table made and up there & driving the wagon & losing the thing off in the snow &c. Saw Charlotte & Frank this noon. Also Julie Neilson the Fair, in a long blue coat edged with sable (or other?) Edith & Ned stopped at night & I went up to Ned's room for a little while before supper. She came down to the door & kissed me good- bye & wanted me to come down tonight "after I was gone". Read a little promiscuously. Bed early Feb. 15 Sat. Rained this p.m. & was awful walking all day. Stopped for Ned this noon & Mr. Gillis eulogized Mr. Cutler. Shopped with Ned in a pouring rain tonight & bought rugs & shoes & things. She came home to supper with me & we talked I looked at bound "Life" &c till 9:30 when I walked down to Adams St. with her. Feb. 16. Sun. Got up rather early for Sunday & had a bath before breakfast. Also had the Blues terribly for a change. Once in
