noon and tonight she and Edith
were up. It had cleared off this p.m. & was quite lovely.
Mrs. Behn sent over for us all
to come over to the party - but we didn't till after we had seen the girls
off - at 10 o'clock. Nothing more about camping except that
Frederica can go and stay 3 weeks!
I suppose everything is waiting for Mr. Whitcomb's
plans. Will Orchard
was in town to-day & dined with Gordon
. I went over to Mrs.
Behn's - late - & watched a German woman tell fortunes
in the street car & the card playing in the shed & heard the
music in the parlor (Frank Mandeville) & saw the girls'
room - new brass bedstead &c.&c. & finally came home and
read until 12! FoolishnessJun. 22. Sat.
A beautiful day. The orphans all started
off early on a picnic (Central Ch. S. S. at
Silver Lake.) It was a perfect day to ride & I
promised to go to Davis' with Mary
at 5 o'clock. Couldn't, tho' on acct. of "municipal matters"
J.G. kept me busy. Rode up
after Mary & found she had
just gone. Following Helen
down to her house! I had & little visit with Mr. Davis on the front piazza and
1895.
