frame & plates &c. from Papa - all very accept- able. Spent the remainder of the evening with my new books. Mrs. Jones gave me a dollar. Dec. 25. Wed Christmas morning & we sat down to breakfast at 11 o'clock! Afterward I trolled around in the rain trying to get our ice cream frozen, but didn't succeed. Helped make a cake &c.&c. & the rest of the afternoon was dinner. In the evening Charlotte, Lura, Mary, Ned & Edith came and we had quite a nice time - talking &c.&c. Had chocolate cake & oranges (no ice cream!) & took a flash light picture of 3 of the girls - & Charlotte's back (!) Lura wouldn't get in - nor I. They all went home rather early (because Lura would) - she had been up till 2 last night - She brought "Clark's" picture-framed - from Mary. Charlotte sent both Ned & E the Bibelot series "The Blessed Damozel". We all decided to go to John Drew next week. I wrote to Mr. Hodges when they'd gone. Dec. 26. Thursday Saw Charlotte this noon. Also shopped a little. Tonight we went to the pedro Club at Miss French's. It poured when we went & snowed & blowed when on came home. I played with Mr. McLaughlin
