to Teall's with Mary & then we rode up to- gether - She invites me to join a "Neighborhood Pedro Club". Spent the evening reading. Nov. 2. Sat. A gray day. Walked back this p.m.! Stopped at Mary's with photographs & went to the Dr's for an hour & a half. He says if I'm good & take medicine I shall be well in 2 or 3 months! Ned & Edith were at the office again at 5 tonight. I went up to Bullard's for ginger snaps & after supper Ned & Edith came up & we had the g-s's with cider. They went home at 9 & I wrote & read. Nov. 3 Sun. A perfectly beautiful clear day - about 60°- after a beautiful full-moonlight night. I washed dishes &c. after a late breakfast, and then Mary & I "byked" to our park - such a lovely ride - such sweet air - such beautiful gray green grass and brown & red trees & bare gray trunks. Lots of bicyclists but nobody else in the park. Geo. Humphrey passed us - & other distinguished people! Mary's chain broke just as we got to our seat and a man with a baby on his wheel assisted us - no good tho' - she must walk back I took a picture from that hill top - one
