along several miles before we rested - at the top of a little hill with "river views" both ways. Then we crossed some sand & some R.R. tracks and went along a little path thro' pretty places - to the prettiest - at Ballantine's Bridge. Here we stopped & gazed & took some pictures. Frank had a camera for the day. He succeeded among other things, in getting Mary & Ned both on one place - at different times! At last we started off again - to return (it was 6 miles out there, from our house) on the East side. The road wasn't so good but it was prettier. We rode a long way on the grass, between road & river & Ned & I had a walk in a long strip of shade - stopped to see a train go by & to take some more picture - more or less bad. It seemed a very short ride to the Park edge - where we rested under a big tree on top of the hill for a long time - then enjoyed the smooth Park road. Ned & I stopped for a glass of milk - reached home in time to clean my wheel, take a bath and dress before dinner. Went to church with Mama in the p.m. and spent the rest of the time by the fire, reading.
