6/7 "Diplomacy"
6/10 "Camille"
June 6 Mon. A beautiful day, but I started out badly by loosing my glasses out of my bag and smashing my watch. We "expected to be invited" to Lillians tonight to meet her sister Rose
, but were not. Played flinch & Papa read "Prisoner of Zenda" Jun. 7. Tues. aloud. A woman "Dr. Turner" of Alexander St. brought in my glasses today and ac- cepted the 50 cents gratefully. Tonight we went to the Lyceum to hear "Diplomacy". Lura, "Marie", Laura, Nellie & I. Quite good. June 8. A rainy day. Home in evening. Nothing spl. June 9. Thurs. The Fraley - Carey people made it lovely all day flying Kites on the roof. Flack & I went up late in the afternoon and they had 4 up and a big sign. We had the ice cream lesson at cooking school tonight. I made the Philadelphia, with chocolate dressing, & it was fine. Then went over to Beall's recital in Mirror Hall. Claire Rogers sent me 2 invitations! Neuralgia. June 10 Fri. Lovely weather, but a sad day for me. I had neuralgia so I went to see Dr. Scranton at noon about that broken back tooth & he undertook to get it out (with a little cocaine on) and got 2 or 3 pieces out & left the rest. I was a wreck. Finally I had to go back to the office and finish a lot of letters and in the evening went with Miss McAffrey to see Jessie Bonesteel in "Camille", but didn't enjoy myself hugely. Papa and Mama went too - sat down in the 32 row, enjoyed it!
