Then I looked at Spring hats (ugh). In the evening Mother and I went over to Lura's
and played Flinch till late - no, that was Thursday. Mrs. Penfield was there
Mrs. Coe and Eleanor
leave tomorrow.
Apr. 1 Sat.
Fine. Much cooler. Very busy now
J.W. is back. Didn't get away till 6:30
waiting for Gilmore to discuss some proposals
he and I didn't want to send with
JW (who did). In the evening went to see
Nat Goodwin with Laura H.
She gave me her views on the Penfield
question and I agreed with her, fully. "The Usurper" was quite
amusing. Mother
went out to Brighton and saw the Lyons
twins this p.m.
Apr. 2. Sun.
Very beautiful thro' the windows, but a little chilly, I imagine, outside. Put
away old letters, wrote, "figured" &c. It was so nice outdoors that when
the girls came in from church and told me about it I had to go out, so took
the car to Brighton and walked all the way in - and
home. It was a pretty long walk, but delightful. I was late to dinner, tho'
and right afterward Edith came & wanted
me to go for another walk - but I didn't. read "Eleanor" &c.
instead.
Apr. 3 Mon.
A bright day. Went over to the "Y" & called on Helen
at noon, then to the "P.O." & called on Chattie
