picturesque. The lake was a delight. I am fond of Ontario - Passed black-sailed schooners - the only ones we'd seen except the 3 in St. Mary's river - a few gulls, a lovely sunset - a picturesque nearby shore - American, too, Lights - &c. &c. We brought our lunch from McConkey's & ate it on deck - a good way to do on a trip like this - Arrived at Charlotte about 9, but had to wait for the 9:20. Rode down to the beach on her, and then to the city. I was home soon after ten. So sleepy and so glad to see the dear Mother and Father again! Aug. 9. Tues. It seems good - as always - to be home and everyone seems glad to see me. Met Edith this morning. She says Mary is home. Claude is in New York and Char starts tomorrowday for Utica - where they are to meet and go to "Number Four" in the Adirondacks. Lura and Chattie Davis came up to supper tonight and afterward Mrs. Baker and Laura came over. Had quite a visit. Aug. 10. Wed. Saw Con today and Harry Wilkinson (in CFB's office) He is much better & working here now. All the Wilkinsons are to be at Cro'nest while Char & Claude are gone. Saw my photos (negatives) which are only so-so, at 5:30 went with "Tommy " and "Reggy"
