Aug 8. Mon We had to get up pretty early. The boat arrived at Collingwood in the night and we were out by six and captured and "bussed" by a Grand Hotel Porter, who dashed us up thro' the "city" to the Eastlake dining room (stork decorations &c) a tall sleepy waitress, a peroxide land- lady lords wife &c.&c.) We had rather a decent breakfast - considering the hour (50¢) and felt better. The landlord was affable (he reminded me of a foreign "portier") And we dashed away in the 'bus again in the pouring rain, to the station & the 6:40 train - just arriving. It backed down to the dock and they carried a sick lady in. I snapped my last forlorn little film at the morning clouds breaking away over a corner of the bay, and then, as we pulled out, it really did clear off and was most beautiful. The distant hills about Collingwood are lovely - up Meaford-way (where ""Jack"

" lives) - I should like to see more of that region. At Allendale the others ate bites of breakfast. We backed up, around the edge of Lake Simcoe to Barrie - where it was Civic Holiday and everyone going some where. The train soon
