May 4. Wed. Lovely Spring weather at last. House- cleaning. Played flinch with Mother tonight. May 5 Thurs. Staid down to Sibley's to lunch with Papa. Then ordered a new brown hat at Miss Maloney's. This evening Mr. Crabtree - of the "Mobile" called. He has been married since and has a little girl 3 years old. He staid till 11:30 - Looks about the same, but better. May 6. Fri. Lunched with Helen at the "Y" today and discussed Vacation plans. She seems rather enthusiastic about my trip. &c. Tonight went to the May-fair at the Mechanics Institute with Claude (in my "glad rags") It was pretty and nice - Mrs. Hoyt invited us down to the play. Madelinewas an Irish servant girl and very good. Jno.

and Jack Warner were in it and John
's proposal to Helen O'Hare was so funny that his mother almost had hysterics - Later I saw the Vitascope - Rochester fire &c. The best thing was a train robbery in a number of scenes. They were very good. May 7. Sat. Warm Summer weather at last - no coats nor gloves. At 5 p.m. I rode around to Edith
's but found she had gone up the river of with Con - the first time this Spring. Had a chat with Meta & Theo and made a stock later. Claude was over evening the bow on the "Escisse - Escisse" drawings.
