The Hartigan girls told me their troubles coming up in the car this noon. They have to work nights this week and hate it. Helped with Mother's parcels tonight. Dec. 22 Thurs. Everybody "doing up" things today. Peruzzi is lost! The little dear!! Finished with Mother's parcels. I got a postal card "Merry Christmas" from Truthful John, with a picture of Pointe-au-Baril light. Yesterday I got a Japanese print, but I don't know who sent it to me. Dec. 23 Fri. Warm and thawy. Miss McAffrey left tonight for her home in "Cuby" - to be gone till Tuesday. Gracie Bingham came in to wish us a Merry Christmas &c. Every- body doing up packages &c. I finished for Mother tonight. Bed early as I was tired. Dec. 24 Sat. Fine before-Christmas weather. Colder and snowy. Dear Peruzzi - who's been lost two or three days! came back. Claude's so delighted. Both his draughtsmen have gone home for Christmas. Lang is very nice I think. They gave CFB a nice pair of gloves. Edith came up at noon - to bring a package - and I rode down with her. Didn't leave till 5 or after and had to fairly rush to go to Lura's (room) Mary and Davises before Cro'nest, but just caught cars, so I made it. Found Edith
