Twelve girls - Lulu looked lovely in
white and violets and the girls were entertaining. Tonight Mother
and I went to the Eureka club
to see Miss Hake's girls in a
Vaudeville show. It was very good.
Madeleine Hoyt was in it and we sat next to
her Mother & Mar- guerite Elwood, and
near the Carsons. The girls all looked so pretty. And the
"Zanzibar" and "Pale Moonlight" songs made a great hit.
The play was good too.
Apr 6. Wed.
Lulu Graves and Dr.
Hardenbrook
were married at noon today - (not
quite so fine as yesterday) Tonight Claude
and I went to see Laurence D'Orsay
in "The Earl of Pawtucket". It was quite original and
entertaining. Scenes all in the Waldorf - Astoria and the Palen room
especially good.
Apr. 7 ThursChar came tonight - to stay a week.
Claude went to meet her as I went to
cooking school. We roasted chicken tonight (good!) and made short cake &c.
I took a piece to
Apr. 8 Fri.Flack this morning and he seemed to enjoy it
immensely. Spring is here, apparently. Char
was down town, looking fine. She came here to supper -
& then she and Claude went up to
Cro'nest to
