They sang and we talked or kept silent and loved it - Of course we were late in. Aug. 22 Monday Up early. It was a lovely morning. I sat on the piazza and finished "The Marriage of Wm Ashe" in the last Harpers before Mate appeared. After breakfast Frank was to drive to Livonia with Albert Hartman and Mr. Herrick so (as it was rough rowing, anyway) Mate, Chas, Rae
and I walked to Wilkinson's dock and waited for the boat a long time - It was late. I took its picture, coming up (with Mate's camera) and she took mine on the back - disappearing. It turned out to be a warm day, but the ride down was pleasant. Arrived in Rochester in the midst of a hard shower and put in a very busy day, after I arrived at the office. Aug. 23. Tues. Still busy. Rode out to Mabel's tonight. Had a nice chat with Bertha Gutman, on the way up. Mr. Rogers was on a sofa on the piazza - looking very bad tho'. Mabel had gone to Canandaigua. Saw May and had a nice little visit with
