Feb. 5 Friday Pretty well broken up today. It's the grippe, sure - Left at 11:30 and went in to Lura's & then had lunch at Lotspikes with Edith's and came home - Mrs. Major was here cleaning & I put the parlor to rights &c. before I went to bed. for the rest of the day - Had a very high fever at night. Claude brought me up some milk &c. and Papa went downtown to supper. Slept pretty well tho'. Feb. 6. Sat. Got up and got breakfast, but it was a hard job - Had to lie down several times. Stayed home all day - Claude went to Castile to see Char - and Papa went downtown - The Post-Express have engaged him on the paper - commencing Monday! He is to be asst. city Editor now, and perhaps edit the weekly (live stock &c) later Lura came up to see me, just about 5:30 or so. I made macaroni for supper - more fever. Feb. 7. Sun. Pouring rain - Looks like a flood. Took it easy today. Papa insisted on going down to the white kitchen to dinner - so we did - walked - as it had stopped raining. Then put on my wrapper again and settled down to read when Edith came She stayed all p.m. & to supper.
