stunning new furs she got "on approval" Then Mary, Nellie & Lura came & Amelia Goetzman came in and we played partners - which is lots more fun than the other way. Later Laura made Eggs a la something (poached in tomatoe) in the chafing dish very good indeed, served on toast. Awfully cold going home - I took Zozie to bed with me. Feb. 2 Tues. Dear Mother went to Dansville today. Dr. Andrews is going to take out some big wens that bother her. I got supper and am housekeeper till she gets home. Feb. 3. Wed. Very cold. The "Perfects" at Rogers - We almost froze. Spent some time in Mabel's room, as usual - and then went to Clare
's where she had her "chest" turned out for Nellie's benefit. Finally got to playing, but Edith wasn't there so there were only 2 tables and nobody cared. Florence
 has an awful cold. Had hot soup, later - and then booby prize was a "groundhog" (?) in honor of the day. Mabel was funny at supper, telling about a "proposal" she had. She and Clare
 go to N.Y. for a week to- morrow. I nearly perished waiting for cars. Feb. 4 Thurs. Have to get up early mornings, now - a days - but Papa washes the dishes. Made "Egg-a-la-Buckingham" for supper & took a hot bath for my cold.
