Sick all day to day. In bed all the forenoon and on the couch all
the after- noon. Stayed up and read "The Virginian" tonight.
Jan 31 Sun
Fine day. I fixed the cranberries for dinner, (good) and it was a
good dinner too. Was just starting out in
the p.m. when
Edith got off the car and came up to the
house for a few minutes. Then we walked over the river together. I
went to
Moshers, but they were not home. They are going
abroad with Seward's
next month and Con has rented their
house furnished! (at my suggestion). I stopped at
Con's and sat and talked with them
(Harriette
& Edith over their
dessert and cigarettes. Then I went up to the
Davis's for a few minutes and the
Skipper put on his red hat in my honor
and showed me his maps &c.
Frank and
Lillian came over here in the evening. Quite a pleasant
call.
Feb. 1. Mon.
Blizzardy & cold. Mr. Sherlock is the new
draughtsman at Bragdon & Hillman's. He comes from
Geneseso every day! Tonight we went to
Laura Hutchinson's
to play "flinch"
(same crowd) I got there first and she showed me some
