the Johnny Grahams at the corner and walked home with Claude (Jno H. gave him tickets) Jan. 14 Thurs. Yesterday was uneventful (but wintery) and tonight is stormed, but Claude & I went to see Ethel Barrymore in "Cousin Kate" - a very cute play with a small cast - but beautifully done. (Stickley furniture in 2nd act &c.) The love scene in the vacant house in the 2nd act was charming - We both enjoyed it very much indeed. Jan. 15 Fri. This is "another" night - (The 4th) I'd promised to learn "flinch". Mary & I were going to Lura's, but Eleanore
has the chicken pox and M. was afraid. I didn't care much as I was very tired. Miss Blackall is home sick. Jan. 16 Sat. A strenuous day. Miss Blackall still sick and I with JW's men and all the dictation &c.&c. Claude went down to Castile to see Char. I felt rather worried for fear he'd be snowed up, as it was blowing and drifing and growing cold. Jan. 17 Sun. A "white" Sunday. Dear Mother has a bad cold and I'm worried about her, but she would go to church. I read "Life of Napoleon" &c. & held Zozie
