that I stayed down (as all after thought) and saw the girls, Nellie, Mary, Edith&c and did some errands. Matie Hawley sent me a picture of herself and Hobart
 and another of him alone & a beautiful [illegible]-work handkerchief. I have a lovely picture of Mae Stull too, and an exquisite handkerchief from her. Zaza & I are alone in our room. Bugsie has left and Miss McCaffrey has gone down to Cuba
 till Monday (and Harry
 to Toronto) so we were very busy and stayed rather late. I wrote and wrote must of the evening. Zozie & Zenda have fun with the ping pong balls. Stanley Oliver sent me a Xmas paper from N.Z. Dec. 27 Sun. Nice snowy Sunday - which I enjoyed. Read 4 books(!) Napoleon's Life, Queen Isyl, Jungle Book & House on the Hudson. Edith
 came up this p.m. - tho' it snowed hard. We sat down stairs by the fire. Later, after supper, I washed my hair. Dec. 28 Mon. "Blue Monday" - Everyone working hard. Met and had a little chat with Frank D. also met "Gracie Bugs", who was delighted with "Gallops 2" which I sent her. Read at night and ate Xmas candy. Papa read aloud some from McClure's.
