Then changed again & went the length of 14th and smack to our hotel - for a rest and a very delicious dinner to the orchestra accompaniment and a short evening (I finished Trudy's Mon Mar. 24th letter) before bed. It was another bright and lovely morning and we were up betimes and had had breakfast before nine o'clock and were strolling past the old Ford Theatre where Lincoln was shot and over across was the house where he died. This a quaint old house, now a (Oldroyd) museum full of Lincoln relics and I went in with Mother far enough to see the room where he died - and left her there for an hour or so which she enjoyed. Meanwhile I went over to the New National Theatre and got seats for tonight. Afterward I met Mother at the hotel and we took the car up to the Library to see the Rochester papers (Mrs. Weaver's trial and take a cursory view of the Library by daylight. We were fortunate enough to see the Representative reading room this time - and the quite different aspect of the whole beautiful building by daylight. I was quite im-
