various lobbies (one fine one where a weather man was putting the "weather" on a big ground-glass map) The lower corridors - crypt, Senate and all the adjoining rooms - Even the Vice President's room (not open to the public) with the famous old x36 - mirror the Senators' gorgeous reception room and the President's room. We also saw the Supreme Court (the old Senate Chamber) with the august chairs of the "Bench" carefully covered with linen. Then we climbed up into the grand old dome and strolled around it to see the beautiful views of Washington. When we came down we had tho't of taking the "Electric Observation Car" but it didn't appeal to me and I saw a likely looking shabby old negro with an open "carriage" who claimed he knew all there was to know about Washington - so we engaged him and had an hour and a half of his entertaining society - for he was as good as his word. He showed us the churches Mr. McKinley & Mr. Grant and Mr. Cleveland attended
