with her to dinner first. It had been such a queer day. Very
hot in the morning (summer clothes & no coat) Then a queer smoky
afternoon with a small cyclone & sudden change of wind & a
drop of at least 25° degree. I guess more. It was quite comfortable
in the evening.
May 1 Friday
I went to Burton Holmes
lecture on "Sweden" - the third of his Friday lectures.
I come home with Miss Dinehart &
Miss Burleigh, but don't sit with them. The first
night Mr. Ines
sat next to me & the second
Mr. Thomas (of Scrantom's)
May 2. Sat.
A fine day but P.O. inspectors from N.Y.
& Chicago were here & there was no
sence
of a half holiday. At five I took a long
ride - down State St. (crossing at
Platt) & Lake Ave crossing
Driving Park & up the other side - it was
delightful. The air hazy with smokes - drifted over from the big
Adirondack
with her to dinner first. It had been such a queer day. Very
