Jan. 1. Thurs.
A beautiful, sunny, New Year's Day. We got up in time
to let Mother go to prayer meeting - washed dishes,
dusted, &c. and dressed & Trudy and I went over to the Orphan
Asylum to see the Sir Knights present a
little boy with a flag, make speeches sing and give presents.
Dr.
& Mrs. Little were there -
Jno. N. Beckley & others spoke and while the
toys were being given out I talked with Fred
Beach (in uniform.) We went thro' the nurseries
afterward. After dinner we had a call from Grace
and
Ruth Dowling, who are visiting
Mrs. Wetmore, & then Trudy & I went over to the YWCA gym, and saw
Miss Fisher's class exercise and a game of
basket-ball & talked with
Helen & Mrs.
Armstrong a little, and then came home to supper.
Claude & Char were coming down, but Fred came just for the day, so they didn't but brought
him down for half an hour in the evening - on his way to his train.
He's nice.
