Janice Meredith 11/17/00
(11th)
Sunday I spent in the park - all morning and Mary and I went to Lura’s to supper by invitation and stayed till 9:30 in the evening. I missed Con. He had been here till he had to take the train for Murray Bay where he went to superintend the Harlan cottage
- all last week. Claude has been far from well - with his stomach trouble. Dr. Roby has been doctoring him and now he he has gone
19th
(last night) to the Sanitorium at Dansville where we hope a good rest will do the dear boy more good than any thing - I spent most of Sunday in bed myself - got up to supper as Con was here, just back from the north. Now Miss Gutman is sick at the office- It’s always someone. J.G. and I changed our office all around this week. I sit by the window farthest west now - We both like it better. It has rained almost incessently since Sunday evening! Mama and I are playing a match - 50 games - of backgammon - as my eyes are not quite in condition to read much - and I feel to grippy and lazy, anyway. Papa reads a paper on “Metempsychosis" tomorrow at Plymouth church.
