It turned out to be a fine day. And we sat in the stern and enjoyed ourselves first rate. Went ’way around to Clayton and just had time to do and errand or two for Mrs. Barnum and see Mr. Dumble off for Texas and come back at 1:15. We had to wait for Herbie

(of course) and Mrs. Rice and Trudy and I went up town and did errands - got the mail, etc. etc. I had a letter from Mary & one from Gilmore. She found that Mrs. Arnold had a telegram telling how sick Ray was and wanting her to come to Rochester – so she & Mr. Childs and Mr. Mc Connell went
