spectators. Talked to the Warings, Gettys, Wagners & Smiths between times and took Rev. Mr. & Mrs. Smith’s pictures in their bathing suits (with her camera) Minnie Waring took Mary’s and mine with my camera. Had a delicious sun & sand bath & got ready first and betimes, as right after dinner Mary & I went to “town”. Mrs. Waring & Kitty Getty saw us off. We had a lighting trip over (about 25 minutes) and did the town quite thoroughly - all but the Unitarian Church tower which we couldn’t get in to. Called on Mrs. Hoyt & Madelaine at the Hollister’s – and Mrs. Hollister incidentally - (who was very charming). It was a delightful call and Mrs. Hoyt took us thro’ the house - which is over 200 years old & full of rare old furniture & brass &c. We photo- graphed the light house. Went to the museum & learned all about whale fishing from an old Captain & a small boy – (fisher
