charming in a very trying part – a pretty jealous young wife - &
Mr. Dodson was
fine. She seemed the same on the stage as off –
and chatted delightfully about things theatrical. They are going to
the Pacific Coast before they finish and have
already been playing it months without a vacation. Claude
& I went up to the dinner, of course – I really had a very
delightful time –
Claude entertained the company with his
mind – reading (!!) & like amusements.
Papa came up a little while & so
on. The day was gray & blueish white & the Pinnacle was simply beautiful. After
Papa & Claude went, I waited for the girls & we all went
down to Lura’s to supper – Mary
was there & Edith came &
we stayed till after nine & talked of next summer at the cottage
at Sea Breeze – many poor girls
needing helps at the YWCA & elsewhere. I am reading
“Hugh Wynne" lent me by Edith & also having a new red ladies cloth waist made
by
Karle & Rhines – very pretty.
