Mama and Mate & the Baby out again to try it. I also distributed the candy. Mr. Marrinus

was on the shore with Mr. Willard & we talked awhile. It rained again after supper & was very dark. We had a little more music "My Lady's Bower" - or "Mama's Lady's Bower" as the Baby told his Papa. "Miss Banjo" & the Merrinuses
had called on us twice so Mama & Marrine
stayed home with the Baby & to write to Dem and we four went over there in the pitch dark & rain - one lantern - lots of mystery and lots of fun. Miss B. played the Banjo for us. She's a sort of a "Lela Ellen Pleinly
" girl - only worse - and then made us play cards after Mate's saying we didn't want to & Ned couldn't &c. Ned kept score & we played 6 handed Euchre. Mrs. M. Mr. W & I against. Mrs Mate, Mr. M. & Miss Blackmore - who "hated"
