& for shirt waists!
My birthday. I like to be 28. It is such a lovely age. I wish I could always stay so like the Fairy Tarapatapoum - or Mimsey or the Duchess of Towers in the book.
They knew what was right. Papa gave me a book for my photos before he went back to Buffalo yester- day - and Mama gave me some pretty underclothes - a shoe horn - a cake of Cashmere Bouquet. "Katherine North" and "White Birchs".
Claude gave me money for slippers & some beautiful studs. Freddy came up this morning with a bunch of violets & some Lubrin's "Violet" & a ticket to "A Box of Monkeys"
I walked to the car with her. It poured & continued all day & night I got new shoes at Moores. Gertrude sent a "Camp Comfort" souvenir & Kate
a yellow soap box (what I wanted)! Ned came at night with a lovely silver hair pin - from her - and 5 beautiful handkerchiefs - from Edith. I stayed - writing-till 6. After supper I read "White Birchs"
