Apr. 17. Friday It started out with a fine thundershower this morning, but it didn't last & the sun got blazing hot. Used up poor J.G. Shopped (for buttons) &c. & think we've rented an office to Prof. Hale. Papa planted our garden - beans & nasturtiums - Mary came up tonight I rode out to the park with her & we sat on the sand by the riverside awhile - The old mill on the other side is gone. Coming back Warren Fisk found us & we rode down together. Mary invited me down but I didn't go. Got letter from Ned who's coming home Tuesday Sunday - Wrote tonight &c. Jack Ballagh caught up & walked down the hill with me tonight. Met Dr. Hubner, too & Mr. Len Allen.Mrs. Parker &c. Apr. 18. Sat A gorgeous day - as Mary says - Rode of course. Met Edith on Clinton St. at noon & told her Ned wasn't coming after all tomorrow. J.G. went to play golf with Mr. Sibley this p.m. - In the very swell dog-cart -and Mrs. J.G. came home from N.Y. I rode up to Gilmore's and went up stairs to see him too - He's pretty sick & looks bad. Marjorie sat by the bed all the time - holding his hand. Walked my wheel down Main St. to Hovey's - afterward. Met Mary - going to buy a bicycle hat like mine. This evening, Frank Davis was up. Just after he went Freddie & Edith came to spend the evening.
