Apr. 13 Monday Rode this a.m. Passed Frank Witherspoon & Frank Decker on Clinton St. corner & rode back in the car with Mr. Decker this p.m. We speak to each other now (!) I ordered a hat this noon. Gilmore was taken sick (in fact he's been sick 2 weeks) & couldn't come down this p.m. J.G. kept me until after six (6:15) writing a report. Didn't have my wheel at night & by the time & got home to supper Mary was up for a ride! Read some. Went to bed early. Apr. 14. Tuesday Fine cloudy morning. Started early & rode up to Gilmore's before going to the office. He is quite sick & J.G. was not able to go to N.Y. as he intended to. Got my hat & wore it to "Superba" tonight with Mary. It was quite a funny performance - old fashioned pantomine - but so hot that I was just sick by the time I got home. Apr. 15 Wed A tremendously busy day - Banking & shopping at noon - Rush & putter all day in the office & the evening - till about 8:30 spent on the sofa - Then a bath & bed - (about 88°) Apr. 16 Tues Warm & busy again - But not so bad as yesterday - Gilmore still quite sick & J.W. (& "Anna") in N.Y. Rode Diana. Came up with Geo. Humphrey tonight & he asked me to go to the park at 7, but I declined. Tried on my new dress & afterward sewed while Papa read aloud "Sir George Tressady".
