Lynch was at Sibley's
& talked to us, as usual. Edithcame up & saw our offices
before walking back. Read tonight.
Apr. 11. Sat
Rained some. Claude rode his new Columbia
("Leo"!) home this morning - I shopped
&Edith
came up a little while tonight. She wants me to come to tea
tomorrow. Read the Century.
Apr. 12. Sunday
A lovely spring morning. It sprinkled some,
Claude & I rode to the park expecting to
get rained on, but didn't. It was lovely there - moist & sweet.
It cleared off later & after dinner Mary & I went to
Charlotte's - Had a nice visit with
"Papa &
Mama" D. & when C. got ready we 3 & Frank
went up to the new house #6 Avondale Park
& inspected it thoroughly & found it very nice indeed. We
staid a long time - planning parties & weddings & various
occurences - Then walked back & found
Mrs. D. had supper waiting for us &
some of Charlotte's birthday cake
(35) - We had such a nice chat - till after 9 when Frank
put us on the car - Heard some of Helen's letters &c. Marytook C. a box of
candy & I a volume of "Undergrowth" by GCB.
