The cars began running late in the afternoon. Tonight I went down to Mary's & played 5 handed Pedro with the girls - Mary, Nellie, Emma, & Alice (who got home Tuesday night.) Read till late - & fixed blue prints. Took a snap at my office today. Apr. 4. Saturday Windy & Horrid. Walked up with Mary this noon and "blackguarded" the weather. Tonight I went down to Lorimer St. (rather early) found Frederika at Edith's & we went up stairs & had a nice chat. F. heard Fred Beach was engaged! to a Miss Nettie Schofield (?), Frederika has got to go to Niagara Falls again Monday to take care of her sick cousins. She staid till 8:15 or so & I till nearly nine, Edith went to the car with me & I sat up late reading. Apr. 5. Sunday. A lovely day. Remarkably clear, too, and rather spring like - a good Easter , Mrs. Behn sent over candy &c. & Charella sent Mother a box. Edith came up for me, right after dinner, to go to church. I wore my new brown shirt which I got last night - waist not done yet. We stopped for Mary, Warren Fisk came before we went to church, but we went. It was very lovely - the service. Rose Mills sat in our seat, & Gilmore was there, & Mary others - It was crowded - Edith came back with me & we got supper - Tea, eggs, toast. I read N.Y. papers toolate. The first robins (2)
