pretty good (next to Mary's, I think) Mary got the pin. We had a delicious supper Chicken salad, rolls, coffee, salted almonds &c. I took Charlotte out. Afterward took a picture (Mrs. Weaver touched it off) I got in, but a back view which doesn't show. We went home after eleven and caught a mail car - which we immediately "owned". We "jollied" the conductor & mail men &c. & did all sorts of fool things and Mrs. Weaver had her policeman with her. Nellie a jester from Ned's "stomacher" - & a bunch of violets. Matie a picture - &c.&c. The girls all caught the quarter of 12 car Ned & I met Rose on Spring St. (I went home with N.) in a white wig & paint. She looked so weird. We went right to bed but lay awake till nearly four in the morning. Ned is going to Marry Will in October, she says & we had a little confidential talk. She can't go to Europe in consequence, and Mrs. Thomas is backing out, too preferring a bicycle. Jan 30. Sat. I was a pretty terrible feeling girl when I woke up this morning at 8 o'clock. Had a late breakfast & a visit with the Thomases - (Rose not up) went to B & B's with my negative & then to the office. Got the developed negative at noon & showed Ned. A glorious winter's day - sunny & crisp.
