Nov. 13, Friday. Too damp for Diana this a.m. & I dressed up & took a street car this p.m. Had some fun with "Griggs". He says he wishes his name was "Algernon Fitzwilliam". Sent out for pears "the kind Miss B. thinks are too mellow" and wondered if "Foley" would shy at the snow - for it snowed a good deal. I went to our church to supper (met "Chat" a moment) & all our family partook together. Then Claude & I had a long chat & Rose came too - & Dan Bush & Ernest Millard &c.&c. We staid till 8, and then came out to find it snowing furiously & everything covered. Mama & I took the car. I read & wrote later. Have a horrid grippy cold & feel cross. Nov. 14. Sat. We all had to walk or take street cars today. Snow over everything and chilly air & slushy mud. My cold worse, if anything, too. I managed to get thro' the day - after a fashion, and this evening went with Charlotte & Mary to hear Chevalier. Ned & Rose sat near us too. First a very English "comedienne" sang a couple of songs. She had pretty teeth & complexion - but the unbecoming English hair. Then a fat man dressed in the height of style sang something about Lord somebody's "fuzzy hair" and "mustachioes" &c. &c. and then one about a girl "I'm so pleased to have met
