trip to Buffalo the other day. He is an amusing

J.W. was at the dentist's all day, and
Gilmore was funny as could be. Tonight
I settled Theo's room (after house-
cleaning) wrote, mended gloves - tried on my new waist and now for bath
and bed.
Oct. 17th Saturday
Rather cloudy today - but not enough to dis- courage us from going,
so at 3 4 p.m. Mama
& I started for Dansville by the W.Y. & P -
Papa seeing us to the station. It is a
beautiful trip - tho' the last of it (& best) was in darkness. We go
up to Scottsville
along by the sidepath. At the W.NY. & P. or DL & W junction
we had to wait an hour - and it began raining - a cold rain. I paced
the small platform (wishing I was a man & could smoke a cigar!) and
ate vanilla wafers. It was pitchy darkness & pouring rain when
the train arrived. The conductor was a handsome Irishman with a big
diamond ring. We got into the bus and came down the long hill thro'
the
