wheels! After dinner I went down to Mary's to show her how to make blue prints - and we
(Emma too) went thro' a new house
across the street. Rode down to Ned's
before going home - it was so lovely - but she wasn't in. Spent most
of the evening before the grate reading Harold Frederic's
"Damnation of Theron Ware". The man made me
angry - he's so weak & stupid. I got lunch -
it was good - broiled tomatoes on toast. Lent
Claude my camera this p.m.
Sept. 21 MondayCircus day - and cloudy! The streets had began to look
populous when I came down to the office and the parade came along
about nine. Of course we all hung out the windows & watched &
Kodaked - Gilmore (just back -
with large fish stories) with his Falcon. I
with
Domino and Willie with
Mr. Crump's Bullseye. We all did the Elephants - but Willie
was the only one who had film left for the Emperor of
Siam on his elephant (the best of all) and he double-exposed
him! - of course it was "lovely" and I saw it again from the roof -
coming up Main St. At noon I met Rose Mills and we took a little walk
together & then I went to Harned's to lunch - but found it not eatable, so left.
Met Edith
& Mae Stull caught up to me.
