come. About 12, I saw her & Rose in a car and went & told Edith & finally they got started - I on my wheel - I walked partway over the bridge with them, and stopped on St. Paul St. to pick a lovely golden rod - & aster bouquet - but overtook them in the early stages of the park and rode on ahead - thro' the wood path to the pavilion, where I negotiated with a talkative man & his wife, for a pumpkin & pie and a thread and needle. While I did a little sewing on my dress binding Ned had a quart of coffee made and we loaded up & sought a quiet spot by the lake-side - where we indulged in bread & butter, coffee, pie, cookies, peaches, pears & cake &c. The sun came out and it was a gorgeous day again - We strolled over and found a lovely seat on a ledge looking down the Genesee, and there spent a happy afternoon - talking, reminiscing, laughing - &c. &c. Now & then I'd stroll away - hatless - into the woods or down the bank to take a sip of nature all alone. When we started, at last, the girls went back via the Shelter, but I rode up & down the wood - path's & around the lake & down to the Entrance & back &c. &c. Now coming back to meet them, & now spinning off again to enjoy the sweet air
